Design data models and metadata systems – providing advice on all data related requirements; working with technical teams to make sure our clients’ systems are designed in accordance with the appropriate data architecture and policies.

Data Modelling:

An understanding of the concepts and principles of data modelling and an understanding of different tools to compare different data models (logical, conceptual and physical).

Data Standards:

Communicating the business benefit of data standards, championing and governing those standards, whilst acting as the escalation point for breaches of data standards.

Metadata Management:

Design and maintain the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the understanding of data assets : whilst designing data models and metadata systems.

Data Governance:

Understanding data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures.

Data Innovation:

Realising the impact of emerging trends on data tools, analysis techniques and data usage.

Data Problem Resolution:

Can log, analyse and manage problems to identify and implement the appropriate solution, ensuring that the problem is fixed.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to focus on outcomes rather than solutions and activities, whilst working with business and technology stakeholders to translate business data problems into viable solutions.

Any Data Architect with visualisation tools, statistical/predictive modelling concepts, experience of industry tools and technologies, coupled with exposure to one or more architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF and/or Zachman) with a practical understanding of applying different Project Management methodologies; such as Waterfall, Agile or Iterative will be highly desired.
