Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently seeking a Professional Services Manager for one of our key clients; a managed cloud, infrastructure and IT consultancy provider based in Surrey.

The ideal candidate will manage the professional services function that consists of the Project Management Office and Technical Consultants.

If you have worked for or with an MSP in the past, you will be of considerable interest to our client.

THE BASICS:

Professional Services Managers who have demonstrable experience of growing and managing PMOs and Delivery Functions and have chaired daily resourcing meetings; coupled with the scheduling of technical resources for workstreams and the scheduling of service operations resources will be of interest.

If you can accurately forecast future resource requirements, coordinate presales, whilst ensuring proposals are accurately scoped with aligned commercials as well as developing and promoting the adoption of best practice for project delivery, we’d like to hear from you.

Developing and running the PMO’s weekly and month-end processes, owning the portfolio of projects; ensuring projects are correctly scoped and managed and overseeing project budgets and project resources all make up part of your remit.

Reviewing and analysing project scopes whilst defining and maintaining KPI’s for projects and providing regular reports on progress to senior management team is important. So too is the line management, mentoring and development of Project Managers, Technical Consultants, and support staff.

THE PRE-REQUISITES:

Individuals who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies will be of interest.

An ITIL qualification would be desirable.

THE SKILLS:

Managers with at least 10 years of experience in project management, as well as several years of experience delivering IT infrastructure projects will be of interest.

If you have set up, or run a PMO before, coupled with experience of working for an MSP we would like to hear from you. An ability to demonstrate a good technical level of infrastructure and networking technologies, as well as being an excellent communicator, with a solid understanding of the technical, behavioural, and contextual elements of (any) project is important.

A deep understanding of commercial aspects to projects, and an aptitude to manage a team responsibly and awareness of, and exposure to ISO, G-Cloud and PSN standards and requirements will stand you in good stead.

We are looking for individuals with a strong drive and resilience to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines, on budget, and to the very highest standards, with an enthusiasm and passion for delivering outstanding results.

THE CONCLUSION:

Whilst reporting to the COO – this is a fantastic job opportunity to lead the PMO and the Technical Consultants and negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors.

An understanding of how high-level projects work, and the commercial element is vital, so too is the ability to write proposals and provide customer-facing services and solutions.

This role is based at our clients’ HQ in Surrey, however, working remotely for 2 – 3 days a week is apparent.
