The successful Telecommunications Hardware Design Engineer will join a talented design team working on the development of the organisations communications products, creating specifications and designs, covering the full hardware product development and validation lifecycle.
Our client has a range of existing products, validated for the European
and American markets, and with its own patented technologies – designed to deliver high-speed broadband this represents an excited opportunity.
We are looking for someone to play a lead role working with a team of multiskilled
engineers focused on the design and development of a range of innovative communications products.
This includes complete product design knowledge, high speed digital design including CPU and DDR memory interfaces, high speed communications with telecoms interface knowledge e.g. Gigabit, Ethernet, VDSL & ADSL2.
You should have a good understanding of PCB layout techniques used for high speed design and analogue circuits with good understanding of signal integrity.
Knowledge of Altium CAD tools and SVN will also hold you in good stead.
If you have achieved a minimum 2.1 Honours Degree from a top tier
University in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or comparable subject and have
worked for several years on the design and implementation of xDSL systems and are familiar with the standards, tools and techniques necessary to build and debug such systems please apply TODAY!
THE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
– Designs of electronic circuits with various interface e.g. DDR2 memory, Ethernet, xDSL modem technology
– CAD design
– Use of electronic bench tool (e.g. logic analysers, spectrum analysers, oscilloscope)
THE DESIRABLE SKILLS:
– Microcontroller design (e.g. Atmel CAP9)
– xDSL experience
– Access Telecoms background
– Ability to interwork designs with FPGAs
– Hardware simulation tools
